How to play
Football Memory is a daily football memory game. Recognise results, scorers and timelines from real matches.
Play today's fiveRounds
Each round shows one clue and one task. Choose an answer and lock it before the 25-second clock runs out. You can change your choice until you lock.
Six formats
Match Memory- Identify the fixture or the missing opponent from the score and clues.
Year or Season- Type the four-digit year. The question says whether it means the edition or the calendar year.
Scoreline- Set the score with the steppers, in the phase shown: after 90 minutes or after extra time.
Missing Scorer- Name the missing goalscorer.
Who Advanced?- Pick which of the two teams went through, including shootouts and aggregate ties.
Timeline Order- Order four events from oldest to newest. The whole order must be right.
Scoring
A correct answer received before the deadline earns 200 points. In friends rooms and practice a fast answer adds a speed bonus of up to 40: 40 × seconds remaining ÷ 25, so correct at 5 seconds earns 232. The daily has no speed bonus; equal scores are split by total answer time. Wrong, skipped and late answers earn 0. The server measures the time, not your device.
Rankings
Your first attempt at each pack and question type each UTC day counts. Boards rank by points, then correct answers, then total answer time; identical results share a rank. The weekly board adds your best five days from Monday to Sunday.
Practice
Train by pack or mixed, timed or untimed. Questions from the next Daily Fives are held back for 48 hours.
Fair play
There is no betting, no prize money and no way to buy points. Practice and replays never count. If a server problem affects a day, the whole day is marked unranked for everyone.
Ranks and rank points
Your rank, from Bronze to Legend, comes from rank points (RP). Daily challenges pay 10 RP per correct answer and 10 more for finishing all five. Friend rooms pay 10 RP per correct answer, 10 for finishing and 30 for the winner, for up to five rooms a day. Practice and Memory Lane are just for fun. The ranks start at Silver 400, Gold 1,200, Platinum 2,800, Diamond 6,000 and Legend 12,400 RP: each needs twice the points of the step before. Team tournaments will add and take rank points, so a rank can go down as well as up.
Competitive: team tournaments (coming soon)
Teams of five players compete in seasons of 20 teams. Every member needs the Gold division or above (divisions run Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Legend, from your competitive rating). Registration closes when 20 teams are ready. Each day every player answers trivia, video and image challenges, and correct answers add to the team's weekly total. The lowest-scoring teams leave each week and questions get harder until one team wins the seasonal cup, plus a profile achievement for each player. Rank points: every member gets 100 RP when the team survives week 1, doubling each week it survives (up to 1,600 a week); a knock-out costs 200 RP; the cup pays 2,000 RP.
Competitive: World Cup (coming soon)
A team that wins five team tournaments together, and whose players reach a higher entry rank (still to be decided), qualifies for the World Cup. It starts when 20 qualified teams are ready, with harder daily challenges and weekly eliminations, and one team wins the World Cup and a permanent profile achievement. This format is a proposal: final rules are announced before launch.
